| The College of Science Multicultural Program’s newest team member is Giselle Salina-Bender, Diversity Program Administrator. Giselle is a first-generation college student born on the beautiful island of Puerto Rico. She graduated from St. Joseph’s College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology . After completion, she attended the University of Saint Francis, receiving her Master’s in School Counseling. During her time at Purdue University, she served the Elmore Family School of Electrical and Computer Engineering as an academic advisor. Prior to coming to Purdue University, she served as a school counselor in K-12 for eight years in rural Indiana. |

- Use your LBC reports when preparing for interviews or writing applications for internships, jobs, and graduate and professional schools.
- There
are many activities that are eligible for LBC points. Take a look at the tables that are on the CoS
website (Click Here) to determine whether what you have done fits the criteria.
- If you have submitted a report, check and see if you have been asked to supply more information. if you find that you have received “0” points on a report, look at the feedback and you will see what questions you have been asked to answer. Resubmit your report with the required information so that your LBC points can be updated.
- If you wish to apply for an LBC grant to support an LBC activity, complete our electronic application form; click on Get Funding

WISP Happenings |

WISPers gathered this past week for our March social event planned by the Social Committee. We spent the evening getting our creative juices flowing by creating our own customized tote bags and conversing with other cohort members. Additionally, we played trivia themed around influential women in the science field!
To commemorate Women’s History Month, the Social Media Committee created a series highlighting women in today’s society who have made an impact in the science community. Six women of various fields were showcased on the undergrad WISP Instagram page. These women included Dr. Fei-Fei Li (Computer Science), Dr. Jennifer Doudna (Chemistry), Dr. Kristen Marhaver (Marine Biology), Dr. Sunetra Gupta (Epidemiology), Dr. Cynthia Kenyon (Biochem & Biophysics), and Dr. Sara Seager (Astrophysics & Planetary Science). This was a great way to bring awareness to achievements and academics of those making a difference and striving for a better future for all women in STEM.
